Hi! My name is Dalin Sao. I am 14 years old. I was born in Svay Reing province in Cambodia. I currently live and learn at Liger Leadership Academy, a scholarship-based educational institution for promising youth. My free time is often devoted to music; I love to sing and play guitar. I live to be musical! Additionally, I really enjoy writing and participating in different sports such as soccer, basketball, and swimming. At the age of 11, I joined a swimming competition called “Mekong River Swim” where I had to swim 800 meters.

I am passionate to make my voice heard. Ultimately, I believe that we are all much more alike than we are different. I believe that a person that has identified themselves a certain way is just like you, even though their problems look nothing like yours do. I was born and raised in a community where there was little acceptance for anything or anyone that seemed “different,” however I have goals to help open people’s minds.

My biggest dream in life is to be successful, and I define my success by my personal happiness.
